The X100 digital video recorder was released in July 2000. With up to 8 camera inputs and a removable hard disk cartridge, the X100 was quickly adopted as the recorder of choice in the UK bus market. As of 2012, there are still thousands of X100 recorders recording reliably in vehicles.
The current X301 Reviewer is compatible with the X100 recorder and is used to access the recorder setup menus and to playback footage.
The current T401-160 hard disk cartridge is also compatible with the X100 and interchangeable with current X200 recorders.
To review footage on a PC, the cartridge is removed from the X100 recorder and connected with the Timespace USB cable. Full playback features are available with Timespace PCLink 100 software.
The latest version of PCLink software is compatible with the X100 recorder and is sold with the T505-USB cable.
The OmniBase digital video recorder was released in 1997. With up to 8 camera inputs and an inbuilt 3.2 Gb hard disk and LCD screen, it was one of the very few digital video recorders available at the time of its launch.
Early adopters quickly recognized the inherent benefits of digital recording over analogue tape and the Omnibase sold well into vehicle and surveillance markets.
The X100 recorder was a ‘separates’ development of the Omnibase and allowed customers the freedom to use ever increasing hard storage and faster PC footage review.
